This PCR swab test is advised for people that currently have symptoms, have an upcoming medical procedure, or require a test for work purposes.
Once your order has been processed, a home test kit will be posted to you with clear instructions on how to collect your sample. The sample is taken by inserting a swab into your mouth and nose.
You will then need to post your sample to the laboratory, and your results will be emailed to you when available.
We have two services for this test, a standard and express service. The standard service will typically take 5-7 days and the express service will take 3-5 days. As we are reliant on both the Postal Service, and the timeframe to post the sample, it’s difficult to guarantee a more accurate turnaround time.
Posting your sample to the lab
Please be aware that Royal Mail is not accepting any COVID-19 samples at post office counters or standard, non-priority postboxes. All samples must be posted in a priority postbox.
Postal workers collecting from priority postboxes have the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) in order to safely handle COVID-19 samples. Your return envelope will have a clear sticker, identifying it as a COVID-19 sample.
This test is advised for people that want to know if they have had Coronavirus in the past. In most cases, once recovered, our bodies build up a resistance to the virus, creating detectable antibodies in our blood. Please note that this is a blood test and is only effective from two weeks after you have experienced Coronavirus symptoms.
Once your order has been processed, a test kit will be posted to you. You will then need to take the kit with you to one of our partner clinics across the country, either on a walk in basis or with a pre-booked appointment time. There are a small number of clinics that hold stock of the test kits, but you will require to pre-book your appointment in advance.
If you would like to proceed with either of these tests, please complete the short form and we will be in contact with you to complete your order.
Many thanks and wishing you and your families safe and well,
The Doctaly team
